This symptom can also appear in people with hepatic steatosis (fatty liver).
7. Dry, cracked skin, fissured heels
Why? Poor toxin elimination affects skin quality , including on the feet. The body tries to compensate through skin elimination, but this dries out the skin and makes it more fragile.
Hydration is not always enough: it is the liver that needs support.
8. Yellowish discoloration of the soles of the feet or nails

Why? In cases of biliary or hepatic disorders, the liver is no longer able to properly eliminate bilirubin . As a result, a yellow tint, even subtle, may appear on the skin and nails.
Be careful if this yellowing is accompanied by fatigue, nausea or dark urine.
9. Visible or prominent veins on the top of the feet
Why? Portal hypertension ( high pressure in the portal vein that supplies the liver) can lead to dilation of peripheral veins, particularly on the tops of the feet.
This is sometimes one of the first visible signs of cirrhosis.
10. Abnormal sensations or loss of sensitivity
Why? An overloaded or diseased liver can disrupt peripheral nerve pathways , leading to:
-
Tingling sensation
-
Numbness,
-
A tingling sensation in the feet.
These signs should be taken seriously, especially if they develop gradually.
What your feet are trying to tell you about your overall health
Our feet are not only the pillars of our body. They are also warning receptors . When an internal organ is suffering – particularly the liver – they can be the first to show outward signs .
Paying attention to these signals gives you a chance to react early.
Consulting a doctor if you have any doubts helps avoid complications.
And above all, taking care of your liver (diet, hydration, stress management, reducing alcohol consumption, etc.) also allows you to… walk lighter .
